Director - Education Job Description
Vista College iscurrently hiring for a Director of Education at our Las Cruces, NM campus.
Director of Educationreports to the Campus Director. Themajor role of the Director of Education is to ensure the academic integrity ofVista College, lead retention efforts, and maintain quality in the in the classroom.The duties of the Director of Education are performed on a 12-month basis.
KEYDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintaincompliance with all regulatory agencies affiliated with Vista College;
Ensuresthat all attendance (i.e., SAP) and final grades are submitted by thedesignated time;
Responsible for schedule development, facultystaffing, room assignments, teaching equipment and tool required, andresolution of scheduling conflicts;
Conduct teacher observations; evaluations;provide frequent performance-related feedback;
Overseethe preparation and submission of textbook requisitions and instructormaterials;
Managescompletion of faculty, PD, and SSC onboarding and continued professionaldevelopment;
Responsiblefor implementing new and revised curriculum at the campus level;
OverseeOAC/IAC meetings and submission of minutes;
Ensurequality student academic and attendance advisement;
Oversee the preparation and presentation of theappropriate lesson plans for each course in accordance with approved courseobjectives;
Maintains accurate course records of studentsand complete course forms as required;
Maintains regular hours for studentconsultation;
Represents Vista College in a professionalmanner throughout the community by promoting a positive public image;
Enforce and abide by all Policies andProcedures;
Supervise student survey completion,distribution, and action plans;
Ensurereports are accurate and submitted according to prescribed deadlines;
Performs other professional duties asassigned;
ADirector of Education must have a minimum of three years of teaching experiencein a higher education setting. A history of proved success in a managerial roleis also required. Bachelor’s degree and qualifications to teach a minimum ofone of the classes offered at the institution is required Master’s degree orhigher is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Education must meet the requirements as mandated by the Departmentof Education, NMHE, TWC, COE and ACCSC (as applicable) as well as any accreditingagencies associated with a specific field of study and degrees awarded at thisinstitution.
Ability to communicate and facilitate learning effectively andwork collaboratively.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general businessperiodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmentalregulations.
Ability to write reports, class assignments and businesscorrespondence.
Ability to effectively present information to faculty and respondto questions from individuals as well as groups.
Proficient in computers, including MS Office related programs andacademic database
Demonstrates commitment to the centrality of teaching and learningin a student centered environment bolstered by effective student outcomemeasures;
Ability to establish and maintain effective interaction withstudents, faculty, administration and staff.
Ability to meet deadlines, delegate, and manage change a must.
This positionis a salaried role which will require flexible scheduling to meet the needs ofthe campus and provide a presence for both day and evening faculty.
Serves under the general direction of the CampusDirector;
Directly supervises the Program DirectorsStudent Services Coordinator and indirectly the Faculty;
Work cooperatively with all departmentsregarding the advisement and retention of the student population.
